There Are Three Very Common Responses You Will Get From Prospects. You’re out and about…you find someone, you strike up an awesome conversation. Then you ask him if they’re open to talk more business? Then what? LOL?
There’s Only 3 Responses. In all of my years are prospecting I found that there are really only three responses you are ever going to get. Now that should be encouraging! LOL! Because there’s not 20! There’s just three! Once you get these three down, you should be good to go! So what are they and how do you handle them?
The Three Most Common Responses Are Yes, No, What Is It?
So let’s handle these one at a time. One of things someone might say is Yes! (Yahooooo! Happy Dance! LOL! Just not in front of the prospect! LOL!) Great! They’re open to hear more about what it is that you are doing.
YES…Now what? You need to be prepared to go to the next step. You need to get some type of contact info from the Prospect. A great way to do that is by handing them your phone. Simply open up your phone to the point where you can enter contact information, and then just hand it to them. They will know just what to do. They’ll put in their contact information. When they hand your phone back, make sure that they do give you a phone number to reach them at. They may give you an email, and that is “ok” but look for a cell phone number also.
What If They Say No? No worries! That Is not who you are looking for then! Just say “no worries”.
But What If They Ask “What Is It?” This is a very common one. And this is the one that really throws people! Now what do you do???…Here’s what not to do. You do not want to go into full-blown assault mode where you start telling them everything about your business. This is what the amateurs do. This is a great way to lose a prospect. What you do want to do is have a short concise simple one or two sentence response.
For example if you are in a health and nutrition business… you might say…
“Hey, I have a health and nutrition business and right now we’re expanding with a product that’s helping a lot of people. Let’s do this, I have got to run, but what’s the best contact number for you that we can talk more about it later.”
Something simple, easy and quick. This works for any business so decide based on what it is that you do what you’re short one or two sentence response is going to be. Watch the short video for more details on how this works…
