Have You Ever Faced the “No Money” Objection?
Doesn’t it just tick you off? You spend all this time showing them everything and then they say they have “no money”? How can this be!
So, would you like to learn how to handle the situation? Or even avoid it altogether? Let’s talk about how…
So on a scale of one to ten, if one is the least ambitious person you know. And 10 is the most successful… Like you get sweaty Palms talking to them and you know that they would be awesome! Let’s just say you are somewhere in the middle…Five, Six, Seven…Something like that. Our goal is to talk to people at your income level and ambition level and above!
If you want to avoid this objection you need to increase the caliber of people that you are talking to. When you talk to a higher caliber person, the money objection will be much less likely to come up. By default they should have the money to sign up. So make sure that when you are building your list and thinking about who you want to approach that you start with your “BEST” people, not the people that you’re the most comfortable with. There’s a big difference!
So let’s say you should get this objection. How are you going to combat it? Here are three different options you can roll with.
Option Number 1: They can borrow it or charge it. You can suggest that they borrow money from a friend or family member or even put it on a credit card. Most companies have an aggressive launch plan and you can show them how if they hit the ground running they can make up their start-up costs and be making a profit before they get their credit card statement.
Also, remember this people have money for the things they want to have money for it. If your car broke down, or one of your kids ended up in the hospital, you would call someone, or sell something, or do what ever was necessary to make it happen. They don’t have a lack of resources… It is a lack of resourcefulness. We need to help them see greater value in what it is that you are offering. If you had a Mercedes
Benz and it was a beautiful $50,000 car. Yet you said you would sell it to them for $2,000. Don’t you think they would find the cash? Absolutely!!! We need to help show the value on a greater level so they can activate their “resourcefulness” and get to work to find the money they need to get started.
Option Number Two: “The Pre-Launch”. This is basically where you get them started and you act as if they are in the business. Technically they’re not registered but you were going through all the motions as if they are. You make their list, pick their best people, show the plan, and when they finally get in the computer we already have a handful of applications to put in the system right after we do theirs.
This option works… However, I would suggest you use your wisdom and discernment. Remember, they will face rejection. So you have to decide whether you want to try and pre-launch them, or you’d rather wait till they can sign up and then start when they are actually in the system.
Option Number 3: You Can Partner with Them. What I mean, is you can kick in some cash and help them get started. This is definitely my last resort I would not start here. In most companies when somebody signs up you make an upfront commission. So you can use that to put towards them getting started, or some of your own money. However I would strongly advise that the prospect must put in some of their money as well. Do not under any circumstances pay for the entire startup of that person. I have been doing this for ten years at any time I’ve ever done that it has always been a total loss. They must have skin in the game if they’re really going to take this seriously.
Also if you are contributing make sure that that is considered a loan. And get a specific date of repayment. Also make sure that that repayment is not based on any future earnings from the business. Because you do not control what they will do in the business. Only they do. So source the repayment from some outside source.
I hope you find these tips helpful! So that first and foremost you can avoid this objection. However if you do get it, you have three options that you can use to handle it.
