Don’t you hate when your prospect asks “How much money are you making?”. Doesn’t it make you want to scream! Don’t they know you’re just getting started! Well instead of looking like a deer in the headlights. Why don’t we have something to say. LOL! Here are Four Specific Comebacks Statements you can use the next time you get this objection.
Script for Overcoming Objections:
Answer Number 1
So one of the things I think it is great to use, whether you are day one just getting started, or perhaps you’ve been building the business for six months or a year. The next time they ask “how much money are you making”… just respond with
“I don’t even know! I’m still getting paid on what I did my very first month!”
This is awesome, because whether you just got one customer, one consultant. or did any kind of business at all, this is a true and accurate statement! Also even if you have not signed up anyone so far, this still can apply… Have you ever showed the plan to someone and they did not sign up on the spot?… But they did sign up later?… If so, then this would apply to you too!
Answer Number 2. This is short and sweet. You could say “You would not believe it if I told you!…”
Answer Number 3. You can use the “I’m right on track” approach. Here’s how this could work. When they ask you “how much money are you making” you answer with “I am just getting started. I already did _____________ and I’m right on track to__________”
You may say I already made $200, or $500, Or whatever you have made so far. But then you follow it up with a bigger picture goal like I am right on track to “get out of debt”. Or I’m right on track to “pay off my car or pay off my house, or I am setting up a college fund for Little Timmy”.
This is a great way to go! Now let’s say you are brand new and you have not done any business. Let’s say you have earned a zero commissions will you can still use this statement… Oftentimes companies will have upfront bonus programs that pay a significant amount of money in the first 30 days. So if you’re getting out there and getting after it doing it actions that it takes to generate commissions. You could still say you’re right on track to earning that bonus.
Answer Number 4. You can use the power of sharing success stories of people you are working with. Here’s how this may sound …
“I’m just getting started. However I am working with this amazing team who has done__________ and they are taking me by the hand to follow in their footsteps”.
So you would share a success story of one of the leaders that you were working with. Share the accolades of what they have done. So this may sound like “I’m just getting started, but I’m working with an amazing team! And my mentor has already been able to retire from his job as a contractor! And although he has never done this before… He’s had huge success and he has been taking me by the hand So I can follow in his footsteps!
So now you are armed and ready to go! The next time somebody ask you how much money are you making? You are you should be prepared and ready with an answer! No longer will you have to fear this coming up! But you can be bold, and confident, and sharing what you have and know that if this question ever does come up you will know exactly what to say!
