Have You Ever Been Out to Eat and Were Blessed to Have an Awesome Waiter or Waitress? You want to hit them up for your business, but your not quite sure what to say…We’re going to talk all about it! There’s a couple of key tips that you’re going to want to know, and we’re also going to talk about exactly what to say.
Key Tips…
- You want to wait till the end of the meal. You don’t want to hit them up a front and then feeling comfortable the rest of the time you’re with them. Talk to them at the end.
- Also if you’re out to eat with a large group of people you want you might want to catch them solo. It will make it more comfortable for you especially if you are not used to talking to them about this and it will also make it more comfortable for them to be honest with what they share with you.
Four Steps to Prospect Your Waiter or Waitress
#1. The Compliment. If you’re prospecting your waiter or waitress, the odds are that they are giving you great service, so compliment and let them know.
#2 Ask The Question & See If they Are Open. I usually like to lead off with “This may seem a bit random, but do you happen any keep your options open for making money outside of what you do here?”
#3. Get Their Contact Info. A great way to do that is by putting it directly into your phone period (just open up the section where you add a new contact) or write it down on your bill or some other paper you have available.
#4 Send a Follow-Up Text. Oftentimes after meeting someone I will text them. That way they will have my number. This is a chance to also say “hey it was great to meet you and I look forward to talking more later.”
Prospecting Script. How does this play out? So here’s how this might sound… “Hey John, thanks for taking such good care of us today. You’ve done a great job helping us with our order and you really have been on top of things. Hey I got a question for you…This may seem a little random, but right now I’m expanding my business. And I’m just curious, do you happen to keep your options open for other ways of making money outside of what you do here at Dennys.” —Yes. “Here’s my phone. Can you put your contact info in there… whatever the best cell number is for you and we’ll touch base later on. Perfect! Thanks for the great service and lets talk more later!”
Follow Up Text.So a little after you exchange contact info. Shoot them a text. This may be once you make it back to your car and you are leaving…
Hey John it’s Summer! It was great to meet you today at Denny’s. I look forward to talking to you more later. Have an awesome night!
