Social Media Prospecting Made Easy! What do you say? When do you say it? And when do you get to the best part?…When do you get to talk about your opportunity?
The Benefits Are Strong! So there are a ton of benefits of using social media to build your business! Whenever you make your list nearly all of the people that you would want to talk to it will fall into one of these four areas…
Number Two: Your acquaintances people that you know and they know you. But they’re not in your inner circle.
Number Three: Friend from the Past. Either people you might have been close to a one-point or they might have been an acquaintance but now your lives have taken different directions and you don’t see them very often. It might have been one, two, three, five, ten, twenty years since you’ve spoken to them!
Number Four: And the last group is Cold Market.
The Script/ Outline: Today we’re going to get into how do you talk to your close friends. And also how do you talk to acquaintances. I think it’s good that you have a “script” or a outline of what you should say. But you still want to improvise and make it your own… the one of the most important things is that you must be yourself! I can give you some things that I say, but at the end of the day follow the general outline so that you can be yourself and be authentic in the process.
Close Friends Script/ Outline. Here’s the general flow.
“Hey _____! How are you? (Now wait for a response. Once they respond back you will have a little bit of small talk with them. After your usual small talk you say “Hey, I just have a second, but I came across something that looks like we can help some people and make some money. I would love to share more about it with you… when we get together?”
What is the End Goal? Now one of the things that’s very important is you need to decide if you’re pointing them to a 1 to 1, a home party, or if you’re going to use a video. Whatever the case maybe, you want to know that up front.
Acquaintances Script/ Outline
The second group of people is acquaintances, now with acquaintances you need to have some small talk. Remember it’s been awhile since you spoke and so you need to warm up the relationship by connecting with them first, before you share your business with them. So what does this look like exactly? Well look at their social media profile…. Find something that you can create some small talk about. Did they post a picture of a birthday party, did they just buy a new house, did they send their kids to college. Find something that you can bring up when you’re talking to them. Then your conversation will go something like…
“Hey ________, how are you? It’s been a little while. I see you just posted a picture of little Johnny’s birthday party. Wow I can’t believe he’s already four! You want to make a point to say something short and sweet, but also a needs to be very personal. This should be 2-3 sentences(not a book! LOL!). Once you send them a message like that… Wait. Some will respond quickly and others will take a while or never respond. Then once they message you back you want to continue to have your small talk. When you are ready and you have had a few conversations back and forth then you can mention “Hey, I have to get scooting, but I got a question for you… I’m working on a side project right now and I thought of you… I’m just curious, do you happen to keep your options open when it comes to making money?” Once they respond you can decide if you’re going to have them watch a video, meet them for coffee and do a one-on-one, or invite them to a home party. It’s that simple!
