Have you ever been asked to do a home party? And you were not quite sure what to do? Perhaps you are new and you have some people that joined you in the business…They are super excited and want to kick their business off! But you’re a little apprehensive because you’re not exactly sure how to be the leader of a home party? Ever felt like that? I certainly have!
So we’re going to roll through a few things that you can use and put into practice to have a home party that knocks it out the park!
First You Want to Prepare Your Host. You want to let them know how it should go. What to expect and also to put their mind at ease. So they don’t go overboard with putting out chairs, setting up a product display or put out tons of food!
The Most Important Thing Is That They Must Over Invite! Often times people will be concerned that they will not have enough room. This is never a problem! Plus if their home is packed out with people that only creates a great sense of urgency for more people to get signed up!
Typically if they invite 30 people, about half say they can come, and about half of that will actually show. So you always, always, always, want them to over invite!
Create a Friendly Environment… When people are showing up at the home party you want to create a really great environment! So make sure that you have some nice upbeat music on. Keep it conversational. And talk to the guests. We don’t want things to be uncomfortable and have stark silence. Or not have them talking among themselves. Your goal as the party leader is to get a chance to talk to every person that comes over. Whether they are in the business, or whether they are a guest. You especially want to focus on building a connection with the guests. This will help you relate to them on a greater level and make them feel they can do this. When you’re ready to start you want to invite everyone into the living room or wherever you’re having people gather.
Your Goal as the Presenter is to Connect with Your Audience. That is your entire goal. Of course you’re going to share what you have, but you want to try and speak their language. If you’re talking to a group of stay-at-home moms, you want to try and use stay at home mom language. Use words that will relate to them. If you are talking to a group of entrepreneurs or business owners you’re going to use very different language. You want to do your best to connect with them in the strongest way possible.
You want to get your audience thinking ”If they can do it, I can do it!”.
Testimonies. You always want to get some good testimonies if possible. The best way to do that is by having people share a 30-60 second testimony from their seat. You do not want them to come to the front of the room. If they do it kind of looks kind of rigged. And your guests may discount what they are saying. So just have them share from their seats. And keep it short… 30 to 60 seconds long. We don’t want to lose the audience because the testimonies run too long!
Closing is Essential! Some people may be scared of closing the audience…Or on the flip side they may
want to “Hard Sell”. Remember this… the harder you close the less it duplicates. I like to create an environment of no pressure. We don’t want the guests to feel uncomfortable and we certainly don’t want the host feeling uncomfortable. I always use paper applications. I pass it around to each of the guests and then I explain how they can get started. If they want to get started on the product as a customer, I will explain that and point it out on the paper application. Or if they see this is something that they would like to do to join the team and create some extra income for them and their family will go through that as well. Then once we wrap that up we will turn on the music again and now it is the hosts job!
“The Meeting After the Meeting” This is Where the Magic Happens! Your goal as the leader conducting the party is to get to “The Meeting After The Meeting” as fast as you can! You don’t want a long drawn-out presentation because you will lose your audience. You want to give them the info… connect with them… and give them the opportunity to sign up. Now it is the host job to go around and sign up their guests!
The Speaker has the Credibility But the Host has the Trust! Because you have been presenting, you and you will have the most credibility and respect with the guests. However you do not have their trust. It is the host of the party that has their trust. That said the host needs to go around and ask their prospects “What did they like most about what they saw” then they can get them started right on the spot.
