You Don’t Have to Lose Your Friends… One of the biggest fears people have in doing network marketing is ruining the relationships of their friends. There are some people that do that… They get involved with network marketing and before you know it, every time you talk to them they bring up the subject!
Almost like they are hiding behind a bush, waiting to jump out at you when you walk by! You just say “hi” and before you know it, they are talking about their business —once again! Let us not be that person!
Let Us Instead Talk About the Person You Want to Be! How to continue to have great relationships, while building your network marketing business! When it comes to this concern, there is actually several different areas we should talk about.
Concern #1: Seeking the Approval of Others. One of the major areas of concern, is oftentimes seeking the approval of other others. We get into network marketing, we are all pumped and ready to go! We love what’s possible with the company, the Compensation Plan, and the product! But then we go to our friends—looking to get their opinion!
This Is a Problem! You can’t expect everyone to “buy in” to what you’re doing! Just know that upfront! You have to have a vision for what you want in your life and where you’re going. You have to know that you’re going to “do this thing” with or without them! You have to step up to the plate. Be professional enough, so that whether they “Join” or “Don’t Join” it won’t affect you.
You’ve Got Skillz…You’re going to build the skills that are required so that you can go to the top of your company! Many people don’t make it!… But that won’t be you! Because you’re committed to your dreams…And you’re committed to the process! You’re going to do the work that it takes to get to the finish line!
Part Two…Over the Top… The second part is a huge problem when it comes to the network marketing profession at large. There are so many people that have given our amazing profession a bad name. They come off way “Over the Top”! They come off pushy, salesy, and overly eager. And then wonder why their friends don’t join. Don’t be that guy or girl. Don’t share it with a friend and then every single time you talk to them, you have to bring it up. If you do, you will lose! No one wants to join a person like that. It puts off energy that you’re needy or that you’re not telling the truth. So Here’s What You Can Do Instead…
Just Ask Them. Be Straight Up! “Hey I have something I’m working on, I’d love to share more about it
with you. Can we get a couple minutes where we sit together and talk about it?”
Just Ask Them Out Right. Or share your product with them. Either way just be straight up. Don’t Dance all around them expecting them to pick up your hints. Ask him if they’re open to check it out and show him what you have. Then when you do the follow-up, if you’re getting funny signals just ask them if they’re really serious about making changes in their life or if maybe this isn’t a good fit for them.
Either Way You Have to Be Cool With It. Let them know that your friendship is way more important than doing the business together. You’re going to do it regardless. And if they want to join you that’s great… But if it’s not a good fit for them, (which it may not be) then let them know that’s okay too! So they can have an “easy out” and you can move on with building your business.
