Tips to Become a Professional Network Marketer… There are quite a few signs the amateurs we’ll put off especially when they’re new to network marketing. Professionals on the other hand also have their distinguishing differences, so let’s talk about them so you can stack the odds in your favor and become a true professional in the Network Marketing space.
Amateurs Beg and Convince… Professionals Sort. If you remember one thing, remember that! Oftentimes it is easy to feel the urge to want to go overboard with information. Or focus on convincing the person that it really IS for them! The truth is, it’s not for everybody! It may not be for them. You’ve got to know that upfront. Sometimes there will be situations where one can be so convicted that they want to strong arm the prospect into getting started… Or perhaps they go a different route and take the begging approach. “Please get started with me… I really need your help… you could be so good”. Do you know what I’m talking about? But that’s not how professionals do it.
Professionals Sort. Imagine you have a jar of change. In there we have pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters. When you reach in, you can pull out just about anything! But you are only looking for the quarters. Your prospects are a lot like this. As you start going through them you realize some are not quarters. You might pull out a penny, a nickel, or a dime. You can talk to that Penny all day long, but it’s not going to become a quarter. So it’s best to move on… put it aside and continue your search. You don’t have to spend all day talking to someone who just “doesn’t get it”. You’re looking for those who are looking for you. It’s ok to move on. Some will… some won’t… so what! NEXT!
You Want to Share a Little with a Lot! What does that mean exactly? You want to share a little bit of information, with a whole lot of people. Get in front of as many people as you can to show the plan. But after you spend the time showing it to them. You’re done. They either “get it” or they don’t. Some will get started now, some will get started later and some will be a straight-up “no”. It’s not for everyone. So don’t try to make it that way. Just understand that’s how business works. The prospects that “Get It” you run with… and the ones that don’t, you let them be.
Have you ever been in a restaurant like IHOP or Dennys? Often you see the waitress coming around with coffee. There’s a room full of 30 people and she goes up to each table asking coffee, coffee, coffee, coffee anyone? She is trying to give away her coffee to anyone that might take her up on it. But out of all the people she talks too many say “No”. In fact the most say no. Does she get offended? Heavens no! Does she let her feathers get ruffled? Of course not! That would be ridiculous! Nobody is rejecting her. They just don’t want any coffee. The same is true for you and your business. If you share what you have to offer, your “coffee” to whoever is around. Don’t take it personal if they don’t want any. It may just not be time for them or they may not be a coffee drinker.
