So have you been thinking about building a team out of town?
Are you excited for the prospect of having team throughout the country! Does the whole thought just kind of get you excited? We’ll if so, that’s great!
There’s a couple of key points you should know before you launch on your quest to bring in that next new distributor… If you’re brand-new and you’re just getting started there is a flow you should go through, before you run to your next out-of-town person to talk to them.
First and foremost I believe you should establish a home base. It’s much easier to walk across the street then it is to go across the country. Often times people get so focused on people they have in different locations that they don’t tap into their local market. Local market is number one! It will be your Basecamp that you start developing your team and your culture from.
The most important thing in sponsoring people out of town is… you must support them...You can’t just sign them up and run off. Supporting them and being their lifeline is so very important! Have you ever heard the phrase faith comes by hearing? Well it does! When someone has a team and community. When they hear the success stories, they hear the training, they see the leaders, and they’re just surrounded and inundated with the success of people in the team. It makes it very easy for them to keep the faith. But when they are the “Lone Ranger” and there’s nobody else around, sometimes it can be difficult.
So the biggest most important thing when sponsoring out-of-town people is SUPPORT. Think about it, will you be able to go support them? Physically go to their location and help them get launched? Or perhaps someone in your upline can help you. Typically, when we bring somebody on in a new market, we will go there and help launch them. Then we will support them every three to four weeks by going back. Once they become a more established Market it will look more like six to eight weeks. In the meantime you want to have a conference call so that they can plug into something on a regular basis.
One key thing that is very important when recruiting out of town people, is setting the right expectations! There is phenomenal opportunity! They are new to the area! They’re one of the first to be there! They could make an obscene about of money! But with great rewards, there is great work. So let them know that… while they will have all these positive benefits… They will also really need to step up to the plate… They will need to be the Pioneer in their Market. No one’s going to spoon-feed them. They need to adopt the phrase and mentality “if it’s going to be it’s up to me!”
So these are my tips for helping sponsor out-of-town people. Deciding when you should do it, and helping support them when you do. Take it, and use it in your team. Out-of-town groups are absolutely awesome! As long as you support them, and help them go to the next level!
